1. What was the last song you heard?
The Verve Pipe - Reverend Girl

2. What were the last two movies you saw?
Maid in Manhattan (Yes, I am ashamed to admit that I have a guilty pleasure for bad chick flicks starring Jennifer Lopez) and About a Boy

3. What were the last three things you purchased?
lunch today, breakfast this morning, and dinner last night. I eat out too much.

4. What four things do you need to do this weekend?
I'll answer for this past weekend: clean at least one room in my house, write a check to Brian F. for the theatre tickets, return some overdue e-mail, work on more paperwork

5. Who are the last five people you talked to?
[info]arani, my brother, my boss, the cashier at Genuardi's, and Rob

What was...

1. ...your first grade teacher's name?
Mrs. Nagy and Miss May both taught us, but I was in Mrs. Nagy's homeroom.

2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
I can't recall watching many cartoons, actually. I know I liked the Smurfs, though.

3. ...the name of your very first best friend?
That I called my best friend: Hillary Ward. But I don't think I met her until about third grade. I must have had other best friends before her. Maybe Jennifer Ivey.

4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal?
Special K with Red Berries

5. ...your favorite thing to do after school?
When I was in school? I don't know. I always had to do my homework as soon as I got home. But I loved after school choir and musical rehearsals. They just had a magical, focused feel about them that class-time rehearsals never did. Entering that wing of the building was always like stepping into a different world, far away from the math, science, and textbooks of the rest of the school.

1. What's the most daring thing you've ever done?
I used to date this guy named Chris Nelson (though this took place after we stopped dating and were just friends). I also used to know the guy who runs the band Live's web site. He used to get me photo passes for their shows whenever they were in town so I could take pictures of their east coast shows to send him. Chris desperately wanted to take pictures, too, and he somehow managed to convince me to sneak him in. It could have been the end of my photo-pass getting career, but fortunately, it wasn't :)

2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?
There's nothing, really. Seeking approval from my mother is a hobby :)

3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle)
3. Although I firmly believe that the biggest risk is not taking one, I have never been in to taking stupid risks, like sex with strangers and doing drugs. I am willing to take risks to get something I want, though. Of course, I lead a charmed existence, and I usually get what I want anyway!

4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky?
Rob kissed me back.

5. ... and what's the worst?
I can't say that I've ever had a risk I've taken go wrong. It's that whole charmed existence thing.

You have just won one million dollars:

1. Who do you call first?
Rob and my parents. I don't know which order I call them in. Probably Rob first. Should we ever get married, definitely Rob first.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
A house. No that's probably not first, actually. It takes some time to buy one, and I can't believe I'd buy nothing else in the intervening time. I'm too much of a shop-a-holic! So something with instant gratification, though honestly, right at this moment, I can't think of a single thing I need, or even want. Not having won a million dollars doesn't keep me from buying things I want!

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I have always said that I would take all my friends and family to Disney World if I won the lottery. But again, not the first thing I'd buy. Probably something for Rob, though. It would depend what his latest technological gadget wish was.

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Definitely. To charitable organizations. The Delaware Humane Association. Alzheimer's Research. Cancer research. At this point, perhaps brain tumor research.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
Yes. In something safe that will maintain the principal value and help the money grow. One million is not enough to retire on, but it might help me be more choosy about what I do for work.

Friday Five...

I've been randomly reading LiveJournals and I have noticed a number of people who have a Friday Five. I think it's kind of cool, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I have no idea where these questions originate from, but I found them on [info]sillydragon's LJ.

1. How much time do you spend online each day?
[work] the whole day.
[home] almost none. When my new next-door neighbors get their wireless access point up and running, I am sure it will be more.

2. What is your browser homepage set to?
[work] our company intranet
[home] Yahoo!

3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
[work] our internal AIM client, regular AIM, and sometimes Yahoo!
[home] Yahoo! and occasionally ICQ.
I tried out Trillian, but I didn't play with it long enough to really decide if I like it or not. One of my co-workers swears by it, though.

4. Where was your first webpage located?
Many moons ago, I went to a high school called The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. That was in the fledgling days of the graphical browsers, and I had a very cool (note the dripping sarcasm...) web site hosted there. I was (am) a geek.

5. How long have you had your current website?
Well, Tamos has been around since I started college, so that was Fall 1994. However, I haven't updated that site in years, except for my Journal... but I guess that means I've had it for almost 9 years. I really am a geek! I had no idea I could quantify my geekiness like that... I should make up a stupid online quiz to calculate your geek factor based on things like that... Jeepers!
