Last night, I bought a pizza that Rob and I will have for dinner tonight. I hate pizza, and he loves it, so this was a big deal. I will suffer through the pizza tonight, in addition to something else nice that I have yet to come up with. And
shellefly might come to Costco with us :)

When was the last time you...
1. ...went to the doctor?
February 3, 2004 - Neurosurgeon, Dr. Sen
2. ...went to the dentist?
Monday - February 16, 2004
3. ...filled your gas tank?
Wednesday - February 18, 2004
4. ...got enough sleep?
Last night
5. ...backed up your computer?
Not nearly recently enough, considering that I work for an information availability company...

I came across this website - Bookcrossing.com - as I was perusing some random-ish LiveJournals today. I can't decide how I feel about the concept, though; it's part Where's George, part library, and part Napster/Kazaa. It's the last part that bugs me, I guess, except it's not really the same thing at all. Book trading is not like electronic song trading, because you aren't actually making a copy of the book. And so I don't have a problem with that. It's an interesting concept, anyway...
I was just re-reading my Old Friends entry from the other day, and I can't believe I said that arguing over adequate Business Continuity plans was fun. I don't know if I am more surprised that I really did have a good time, or that I don't know how I managed to convince the people I know that I am super cool despite my geekiness. Maybe it was the company that made for a good time and not the subject matter.
It is definitely time for lunch.

The MRI this morning wasn't too scary after all, just kind of strange and surreal. They wouldn't let me look at the pictures of my brain afterwards. Meanies.
I had a really good meeting at the shelter last night regarding the database system I am building for them. Very good stuff. I hope I don't lose my momentum on this project with the 8 zillion other things I have going on right now.
This weekend's major priority: Get invitations done for Ness's bridal shower. They must be in the mail by Monday!

I've been randomly reading LiveJournals and I have noticed a number of people who have a Friday Five. I think it's kind of cool, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I have no idea where these questions originate from, but I found them on
sillydragon's LJ.
1. How much time do you spend online each day?
[work] the whole day.
[home] almost none. When my new next-door neighbors get their wireless access point up and running, I am sure it will be more.
2. What is your browser homepage set to?
[work] our company intranet
[home] Yahoo!
3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
[work] our internal AIM client, regular AIM, and sometimes Yahoo!
[home] Yahoo! and occasionally ICQ.
I tried out Trillian, but I didn't play with it long enough to really decide if I like it or not. One of my co-workers swears by it, though.
4. Where was your first webpage located?
Many moons ago, I went to a high school called The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. That was in the fledgling days of the graphical browsers, and I had a very cool (note the dripping sarcasm...) web site hosted there. I was (am) a geek.
5. How long have you had your current website?
Well, Tamos has been around since I started college, so that was Fall 1994. However, I haven't updated that site in years, except for my Journal... but I guess that means I've had it for almost 9 years. I really am a geek! I had no idea I could quantify my geekiness like that... I should make up a stupid online quiz to calculate your geek factor based on things like that... Jeepers!

Why my new Pocket PCis so cool:
1. It transcribes my handwriting, including cursive, print and mixed writing.
2. It weighs almost nothing.
3. You can write anywhere on the screen.
4. It has cool games.
5. It's better than a Palm Pilot any day!
